Patients and their families will be asked about their satisfaction with EMS care. In addition, information about patient outcomes in the ambulance, the emergency department and afterward will be recorded. This information collected about patients will help decide if a Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC) in an EMS agency improves ambulance care for children.
As a result of this, the quality of care children receive, and their health overall, is expected to improve

Our team will work with EMS agencies and provide several resources, including:
1) Simulations about common pediatric emergencies, including respiratory failure, seizures and trauma.
2) The PECC Evaluation Tool, which will help pediatric champions improve their work, and help develop PECC programs
3) Feedback about means for improving family satisfaction with pediatric EMS Care
Ultimately, we aim to provide a blueprint for agencies to implement an agency PECC, and enhance the EMS care of children.
